Acute Warts

Both men and women acquire exophytic forms in the abdomen, inner thighs, perinatal, genital, and anal areas.

These tumors have no symptoms other than their appearance and have a proclivity to spread quickly.

HPV (Human Pupilloma Virus) type 6 causes acute warts, and sexual contact is the most common mode of transmission. It has a latent onset time of 1-6 months after contact. The wearing of a condom on a regular basis is a preventative step.

A review and dermatoscopic analysis are used to make the diagnosis. Tissue should be sent for cytology in severe lesions to rule out malignant abnormalities.

Patients with such lesions should refrain from sexual activity and seek medical help.

At Advanced Aesthetics and Dr. Ioannides Andreas, we use Radio Frequency technology as well as the CO₂ laser to remove damage, resulting in superior aesthetic outcomes and fewer relapses.

The use of condoms, as well as serious therapy by the patient with appropriate treatment, will help prevent the disease from spreading extensively.
