Dual plane Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, also known as eye lift, is an operation that corrects multiple problems in the eyelid area and beyond. Patients with severe drooping and sagging of the upper eyelid, sagging and bags of the lower eyelid, are the appropriate candidates.

Bags under eyes are caused when the tissue structures and muscles supporting the eyelids weaken. The skin may start to sag, and fat that's usually around the eye can move into the area below your eyes. Also, the space below your eyes can gather fluid, making the area look puffy or swollen. Genetics play a major role in the under-eye bag development as well.

It can be done only on the upper, lower or both eyelids.

Excess fat and skin are removed through a small incision made in the natural crease on the upper eyelid and below the lash line on the lower eyelid. Lower eyelid surgery is a more delicate procedure than upper eyelid surgery. Thus, each patient should be evaluated separately as the procedure is individualized according to the specific needs of each case. Dr. Andreas Ioannidis main goal is to give a natural and beautiful result avoiding over resection of through detailed measurements.

The new dual plane eyelid technique improves the level of regeneration and treats even the smallest wrinkles of the lower eyelid with the least possible mobilization. The results are longer lasting and more impressive.
