Nipple & Areola Procedures

When we talk about breast plastic surgery, we usually mean the more traditional operations like breast augmentation and breast reduction. Many women's aesthetic procedure of choice for their breasts is much more localized and focuses on the nipple area.

The name "nipple" refers to two independent anatomical entities: the nipple, which is the projecting point where all of the mammary gland's exponential pores finish, and the areola, which is the black area that surrounds it. The following are some of the aesthetic concerns that a woman may have in regard to the anatomical formation of the area:

  1. A) Nipple sagging: It is believed that 2% of females in the United States suffer from some form of nipple sagging. The infiltration occurs in the majority of instances from birth, while a smaller percentage arises after the first breastfeeding, where ridge tissue appears as a result of injury, causing the infiltration.

The insertion of a nipple can be divided into three stages:

  1. Friction stimulation or cold lifts the inlet and keeps it in the correct place.
  2. After the friction mechanism or cold, the inlet, which is more difficult to return to the inlet position, virtually immediately returns to the inlet position.
  3. The nipples have a deep indentation and never irritate again. During this period, difficulties with inflammation and redness in the area are common.
  1. B) Large nipple: The dark region surrounding the nipple is significantly greater than 4.5 cm in circumference, and in some cases can reach 1/3 of the breast's anterior surface.
  2. C) Puffy areola (inflatable areola): At repose, the region of the areola protrudes outward. This condition is usually associated with tubular breasts in women, and it affects men who lift weights (bodybuilders with heavy weights).
  3. D) Nipples that are large in length, width, or both.

Plastic surgery can help with all of the aforementioned cosmetic issues. The surgery is easy, requiring only local anaesthetic and light drunkenness, and the patient can resume his normal activities right away.

The less nipples and nipples they have in the breast area, the more important they are in terms of looks, sexuality, and motherhood, leading many women to seek treatment.
